What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clerk - Materials Management - Full Time position at Gibson Area Hospital?
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Director of Materials Management, the Storeroom Clerk is responsible for picking and delivery of department supply orders, assisting with department receiving functions, assisting in the shelf management of department inventory and other materials management functions. They are also responsible for recording daily supply transactions into the CPSI Materials Management Information System.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Process all storeroom requisitions.
2. Accurately fills and delivers supply orders to requesting department.
3. Assist Materials Management Assistant in receipt and delivery functions.
4. Label all products in Storeroom according to department guidelines.
5. Dispose of all shipping containers in appropriate manner.
6. Stock Storeroom inventory in designated locations.
7. Participate in scheduled inventory cycle counts and year-end physical inventory.
8. Follows all Materials Management Department policies and procedures.
9. Completes all work in a timely and accurate manner.
10. Acts as a materials management resource for all departments.
11. Serves as a functional resource in the proper maintenance and organization of all department supplies.
12. Participates in on-going quality improvement projects.
13. Maintains the highest degree of customer service and professionalism.
14. Other duties as assigned by Director of Materials Management.

1. Work requires communication abilities necessary to gather and exchange information with customers on a daily basis.
2. Excellent telephone and public relations skills required, often in pressure situations.
3. Visual acuity to proof-read and check typed and handwritten documents for accuracy daily.
4. Ability to use a computer both to enter and retrieve data.
5. Auditory acuity to communicate with customers effectively
6. Ability to function professionally in stressful and space limiting conditions.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
1. Reports directly to Director of Materials Management.
2. Has no responsibility for leading or supervising others within the department.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Minimum of High School diploma with general knowledge of supply handling and distribution preferred.
2. Experience in the functional use of computer software, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
3. Ability to enter data at a rapid pace, correctly, and with minimal errors.
INFECTION EXPOSURE RISK LEVEL:
Category 3 No risk
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Requires movement of moderate to heavy supply carts.
2. Must be on feet for long periods of time.
