HOURS AND SHIFT REQUIREMENTS: RFT, M-F with rare minimal weekend hours
JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS:
The Infection Control Nurse supports the prevention of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) through surveillance, data collection, investigation, and reporting of infections. Utilizes methods to assess, plan, implement and evaluate infection prevention processes across the organization. Serves as liaison between clinical nursing and the Infection Control Department. Uses clinical knowledge of epidemiology to support Infection Prevention initiatives. Monitors compliance with infection control standards and regulations to ensure organizational compliance under the leadership of the Director of Infection Prevention.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge needs:
1. Prefer Registered Nurse with a minimum of three years recent acute care experience
2. Ability to apply evidence based practice guidelines and use of effective infection prevention strategies
3. Experience or knowledge in use of epidemiologic principles and infectious disease processes
4. Knowledge of sterilization, sanitation and disinfection practices
5. Basic understanding of statistics and epidemiologic investigation
6. Proficiency with utilizing digital tools and web based applications
Salary : $30 - $36
