TITLE: Busser
REPORTS TO: General Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
The Busser maintains the cleanliness of the dining room ensuring a neat and sanitary place for guests to dine in along with completing all checklist sanitation tasks within the building, using approved products and tools. They are also responsible for polishing silverware and stocking glassware, utensils and other restaurant equipment. Each Busser/ Sanitizer/ Stocker is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the Gibsons Restaurant Group’s philosophy, which is based upon four distinct core beliefs: Hospitality, Quality, Family and Value.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reset tables according to specifications of the restaurant
- Remove plates and silverware when all guests have finished
- Set up and break down the dining room for each shift
- Maintain service stations and working areas in a clean and orderly manner throughout shift
- Perform all opening and closing side work as required
- Follow company and equipment standards
- Maintain cleanliness of dining room walls and shelves and cleanliness of overall dining room
- Assist wait staff in carrying trays and bringing food to tables
- Keep a clean and professional appearance at all times
- Polish all glasses and silverware to be used in the dining room
- Stock shelves, racks, tables and service stations with new or transferred supplies
- Restock the dining room with china, silverware, glassware, utensils, condiments and linen, and maintain adequate supplies in the work stations when the dining room is open
- Fold napkins and make extra place settings
- Sanitize all FOH and BOH surfaces every 4 hours at opening AND closing (and logged)
- Sanitize bathrooms and dish room every 2 hours (and logged)
- Sanitize high traffic areas every hour (and logged)
- May perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. No experience required.
Skills:
Ability to communicate verbally with other dining room staff in a fast-paced environment. Ability to frequently use hands and fingers to feel, pull, push, and lift. Ability to stand for long periods of time and frequently lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
