Sustainability Office (SO)
The Sustainability Office is a centre of excellence for sustainable investing practices that drives GIC’s focus on this area as an enterprise priority. The Office is responsible for (i) partnering with GIC’s investment teams to integrate sustainability-related considerations in the investment process through the co-development of methodologies, tools, and frameworks, (ii) conducting industry-leading sustainability research that informs the firm’s view on financial materiality and direction on sustainability-themed investing, (iii) defining GIC’s public stance on sustainable investing and the metrics used to measure the sustainability performance of the portfolio, and (iv) providing trusted advice to GIC’s clients to support their sustainable investing strategy. These responsibilities are executed in close collaboration with asset class department-level sustainability experts, and with middle office and corporate services leaders.
We are looking for an Associate / AVP Strat to join the Investment Insights Group (IIG) arm of Sustainability Office to drive business value and ideation through data-driven insights.
What will you do as a Quantitative Strategist?
- Conduct research in one or more asset classes to understand how various sustainability themes impact their risk / return drivers in different markets. Derive insights / alpha through quantitative methods and communicate the findings to key stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain robust quantitative models to support market monitoring, idea generation, backtesting, and total portfolio management. This includes data sourcing internally and externally, cleaning, and preparing the required underlying data in a systematic fashion.
- Build out next-generation sustainability investment analytics capability to promote efficiency in supporting senior management and for wider usage among various investment teams within GIC.
- Conduct detailed analysis on business requirements and develop solutions to enhance or add new analytical capabilities whilst ensuring quick time-to-market and code reusability.
- Build close partnerships and actively collaborate with asset class specialists for the furtherance of sustainability investment analytics.
