Job Opening - Public Educator
Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One is seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Educator, who will be responsible for delivering fire prevention and safety education programs, presentations, activities, classes, and special events to a variety of groups including local schools, businesses, and community organizations. Key areas include emergency preparedness, CPR training, car seat installations, community risk reduction, wildfire prevention and safe sitter courses. The role requires creativity, independent judgement, and flexibility in achieving District goals and objectives.
Refer to the job description for additional information. This is a fulltime, 40 hour per week, onsite position and requires a flexible schedule to accommodate the demands of the role.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides for the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Two years of experience successfully delivering education and/or training to a wide variety of ages and groups within the community.
- Obtain and maintain applicable certifications as needed or requested to perform job duties, such as CPR/AED/BLS, Public Safety Educator, Car Seat Inspection, and Safe Sitter instructor.
- Valid Washington State Driver License and clean driving record.
