What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Maintenance Technician-HHK-Sacaton position at Gila River Health Care?
Position Summary: Oversees and ensures smooth operation of GRHC’s vehicle fleet and related functions related to operations, scheduling, vehicle maintenance, and expenses. Collaborates with related vendors in performing functions such as preventative maintenance and vehicle replacement.
Critical Tasks:
- Reviews all drivers for insurability and reports findings to appropriate departments on a quarterly basis.
- Maintains and reports an accurate and current database of all vehicles, VIN numbers, tag numbers, makes, models, colors, cost of service, and repair history on a timely basis.
- Prepares and maintains a computerized preventative maintenance, service, and repair program for all vehicles.
- Coordinates with insurance carriers to obtain authorization of repairs as required.
- Inspects all GRHC and GSA vehicles for damage, maintenance opportunities, and mileage on a regular basis.
- Maintains a regular record of preventative maintenance and purchase records including receipts for fleet vehicles.
- Takes vehicles in for regular servicing related to oil changes, tire maintenance, battery checks, and fluids upkeep.
- Notifies appropriate departments of upcoming scheduled maintenance of fleet vehicles.
- Oversees vehicle reservation system for general GRHC use.
- Assists in the disposal of fleet vehicles in compliance with established GRHC policy and the Disposition of Equipment forms submitted by departments; disposal here can include disposals, trade-ins, or resales. All vehicle disposals must be approved by the Director.
- Collaborates with GSA in obtaining vehicle leases.
- Performs other job-related activities as requested.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college level education preferred.
- 1 year of experience in clerical, purchasing, or logistics work.
- State of Arizona driver’s license with no significant violations during the last five years.
- Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
