What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Materials Management-HHK-Sacaton position at Gila River Health Care?
Position Summary: Manages and oversees all warehouse functions. Implements the strategy of the Materials Management department by effectively enforcing standards, maintaining systems, and establishing processes & policies to ensure operations support the mission of the hospital.
Critical Tasks:
- Supervises daily administrative operations of the Materials Management department to guarantee highest quality service response and delivery consistent with established professional, regulatory, and government standards.
- Assesses program, service, and functional effectiveness by making consistent efforts to facilitate continuous process improvements.
- Facilitates professional growth through the provision of timely feedback and use of appropriate Human Resource policies with staff.
- Maintains cost effectiveness by managing purchasing and inventory functions while providing availability to appropriate pharmaceuticals.
- Develops monthly progress reports and identifies areas of improvement while making recommendations.
- Manages, supervises, and schedules coverage of main switchboard.
- Acts as the purchasing agent for the hospital; signs and approves all purchase requisitions and issues purchase orders.
- Supervises inventory management by ensuring all property has an asset identification tag or bar code.
- Performs other job-related activities as requested.
- Serves as backup for the Director in their absence.
- Gives direction on Materials related MMIS programs and implementation.
Required Qualifications:
- High School or GED required; Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, or closely related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in hospital-based or health care Materials Management required.
- Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
