Gilbert Design Build is an award-winning full-service design/build remodeling firm that specializes in kitchen, bath, whole home & other select remodeling projects in Manatee and Sarasota counties. Founded in 2001, we are a family-owned company with a fully stocked showroom which our designers use to meet and work with clients. Gilbert Design Build’s process is designed to help clients visualize their projects in advance of construction, and to reduce surprises and delays during the renovation.
We are seeking a dedicated architectural designer who is passionate about their work. Using remarkable people skills to create strong connections with discerning clients, the right candidate will also possess the positive energy and strength to guide and direct powerful and important clients through the design / build process.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture Design
- Knowledge of residential building & construction
- 5 Years of experience in the interior design field
- 7 Years of experience professional drafting
- 5 years project or practical experience in residential, construction, but open to entry-level candidates with educational requirements
- High level of proficiency in AutoCAD or Chief Architect(preferred) software
- Proven kitchen and bath design and selection experience of guiding homeowners for remodeling
- Ability to guide clients toward the right solution while maintaining strong relationships and meeting timeline and budget expectations.
- Knowledge of building and accessible codes
- Experience in management and training of others preferred but not required
- 5 Years experience designing residential remodels (whole house, additions, kitchens, baths, basement remodels.) Licensed Architect is preferred but not required.
- Understanding of basics construction concepts

Responsibilities:
- Assist with site visits and produce accurate existing conditions documentation.
- Highly skilled listener to effectively understand the client’s needs and desires
- Produce detailed architectural designs, presentations and thoroughly coordinated sets of construction documents.
- Assist with product research and selections in architectural and interior design details.
- Work with clients creating floor plans, elevations, and perspectives, and suggesting finishes and cabinetry that fit their aesthetics and budget.
- Present clients with estimates during estimating phases of design, and sign clients into construction.
- Completion of the design package for handoff to production.
- Be a product expert for the client and propose finishes and colors
- Provide specifications to trade contractors, including getting quotes
- Counsel customers regarding how their selections affect the budget
- Take accurate as-built measurements for developing floor plans and elevations.
- Presents design concepts and takes detailed notes to address customer requests.
- Convert design intent from rough and/or detailed sketches and notes, into clear, concise, complete and accurate, detailed working drawings for new construction and/or renovations.
Salary will be commensurate with experience, ability and talent.
Base salary plus commission

Pay: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
