Job description
We are currently seeking a skilled Horizontal Boring Machine Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining horizontal boring machines, ensuring production targets are met and adhering to safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate horizontal boring machines, including loading and unloading materials, setting up workpieces and fixtures, and adjusting machine settings to achieve precise cuts and drilling depths.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and other specifications to determine the best approach to machine the workpiece.
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and quality of work produced.
- Inspect finished workpieces to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on machines as required to keep them in good working order.
- Adhere to safety procedures and regulations at all times, ensuring that all safety equipment is in place and functional.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in operating horizontal boring machines.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to operating machinery.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in an environment with loud noise and varying temperatures.
