What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator position at Gilbert Orchards, Inc.?
We are looking for technically skilled candidates with excellent attention to detail for the position of a forklift operator. Forklift operators are responsible for loading and unloading rooms and trucks optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency, managing inventory, and other duties.
Forklift operators will need to transport fruit and other valuable items, requiring diligence and good hand-eye coordination.
Forklift Operator Responsibilities:
- Manage loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving warehouse fruit and materials supplies, transporting it to the designated areas.
- Creating and tracking documentation of receiving/outgoing tickets and room maps.
- Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency.
- Inspecting for damages and scheduling equipment for maintenance and repairs.
- Managing inventory.
- Preparing orders for shipment.
- Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, inventory, and counting accurately.
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
- Maintenance of facility and rooms. During the off-season, extra facility maintenance may be needed. This included, but was not limited to, ground keeping, sweeping/cleaning rooms, pressure washing rooms and fans, etc.
Forklift Operator Requirements:
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Good physical condition.
- Must be able to stock 12 bins high.
- Must be able to lift 40-60 lbs overhead.
- Mathematical aptitude.
- Attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
- Ability to work, day and evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
