Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to join our "A" School District. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Superintendent in overseeing daily operations of the school district by providing leadership in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating comprehensive educational programs throughout the school district. The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for managing various aspects of the program while fostering a collaborative environment among team members.
Responsibilities
- Act for the Superintendent in her absence.
- Assist principals in developing, implementing and evaluating school programs.
- Coordinate regularly scheduled principals’ meeting and/or staff meetings.
- Work closely with District and school personnel to ensure information exchange, coordination of efforts, and supports, and support for the decision making process in the District.
- Participate in workshops, conferences, meetings, and professional reading to keep current and well-informed about trends and changes in areas of responsibility.
- Assist others, including new administrators, in their professional growth, and development.
- Assist in the development of administrative guidelines.
- Assist in the development of policies.
- Supervise assigned personnel, conduct annual performance appraisals, and make recommendations for appropriate employment action.
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of all required reports and maintain all appropriate records.
- Assist in the preparation of the District budget
- Assist the Superintendent in organizational analysis and development.
- Assist principals with all school-related issues.
- Model high standards of professional conduct.
- Assist the Superintendent in the formulation and implementation of strategic and comprehensive planning.
- Assist the Superintendent in the preparation of the School Board agenda, including preparation of agenda items.
- Oversee the updating of School Board policy.
- Serve on the Superintendent’s Administrative Leadership Team.
- Demonstrate a proactive orientation to identifying potential problems and taking appropriate action.
- Maintain communication with other agencies and school districts to share and receive information on effective programs and practices.
- Set high standards for self and others.
- To assist the Superintendent with maintaining a positive working relationship with the School Board.
- Assists the Superintendent in the problematic intervention and resolution of incidents within the school system.
- To assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of leadership development training programs.
- Provide leadership for purposeful articulation among all instructional levels as well as between basic and special programs.
- Assist Superintendent liaison with social, professional, civic, volunteer and other community agencies and groups having an interest in the schools.
- Serve as the liaison between the State Department of Education ad the instructional staff of the District in communicating and planning program requirements of the State statues, State Board of Education rules and regulations and mandated federal programs.
- Provide leadership for Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation process.
- Report on the status of curriculum and instructional programs and services at the request of the Superintendent.
- Assist in the development of administrative guidelines related to curriculum and instructional services.
- Assist in the development of policies related to curriculum and instructional services.
- Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Certification in educational leadership or working towards certification.
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful administrative experience.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $83,000.00 - $103,313.00 per year
