Data Specialist:
Part-Time, Contract Labor
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Data Specialist to join our team on a contract, part-time basis. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of our donor database, supporting data strategy initiatives, and ensuring streamlined processes for efficient data management. A key focus of this position will be working closely with our new CRM vendor, Arreva/Exceed Further, to successfully transition from our current CRM and database. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a passion for data accuracy, and a collaborative approach to supporting our development and marketing efforts.
Reports To: Director of Development & Marketing
Key Responsibilities:
1. Database Transition & Management
a. Work with our CRM vendor, Arreva/Exceed Further, to facilitate a smooth migration from our current CRM system. b. Ensure data integrity throughout the transition process, identifying and resolving any inconsistencies.
c. Maintain and update donor records with accuracy and consistency. d. Regularly clean, deduplicate, and validate data to ensure its reliability.
2. Data Strategy and Process Improvement
a. Collaborate with the Director of Development & Marketing to develop and implement data strategies that streamline processes and improve efficiency.
b. Identify opportunities to enhance database functionality and user experience within Arreva/Exceed Further
3. Mailing List Preparation
a. Pull and organize targeted mailing lists for fundraising campaigns, newsletters, and other communications.
b. Ensure all mailing lists are segmented, accurate, and aligned with campaign objectives.
4. Reporting and Analytics
a. Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into donor behavior, giving trends, and campaign performance.
b. Assist in analyzing data to inform strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Experience with donor databases or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or similar platforms).
- (Note: We currently use Donor Perfect and will be transitioning to Exceed Further)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Prior experience in a nonprofit environment is a plus.
Work Environment:
This part-time position offers a flexible schedule, with the option for a hybrid work arrangement, depending on organizational needs.
Hours and Compensation:
- Part-time (approximately 10-20 hours per week)
- Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
