The opportunity:
The Planning Analyst-Technical will be responsible for the analysis, development and updating of reports, information systems, projects and tools for the Planning and Scheduling department. The position sits within the Planning Department, reporting directly to the Supervisor, Planning.
The role
- Conduct comprehensive data analyses to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, providing actionable recommendations to upper management and the team to improve planning and scheduling processes.
- Collaborate with schedulers and other analysts to gather requirements and develop custom data models, metrics, and KPIs that align with departmental goals, leveraging tools such as Tableau, Excel VBA and SQL.
- Develop, test, and maintain automated workflows and scripts to streamline data processing, reporting, and other repetitive tasks, reducing manual effort and errors.
- Design, document, and maintain detailed system manuals, process documentation, and user guides for all developed tools, ensuring clarity and accessibility for end users.
- Identify and implement innovative, data-driven solutions to address inefficiencies in planning, scheduling, and reporting workflows, maximizing resource utilization and departmental productivity.
The requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Studies or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience in a related field.
- Experience in Tableau, Power BI or any other data visualization software would be an asset
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to take initiative and be proactive in resolving any issues encountered.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
