About the position:
The part time Medical Billing Specialist for Gilead’s Middletown area finance department works 40 hours per week, M-F 8am-4pm to handle all aspects of medical billing for our Outpatient Mental Health Clinics, including processing of claims, benefit verification, maintaining of accurate insurance information, and assisting clinicians with necessary prior-authorizations.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma required
Medical Billing Certification required
Knowledge of Word, Excel and medical billing software
3 years of experience required
Must maintain and provide proof of valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing

Responsibilities:
Verifying mental health benefit insurance information for clients in the Outpatient Clinics
Entering and maintaining client insurance information in the billing management system
Applying medical billing knowledge to generate, review and submit electronic and paper bills to insurance companies
Review EOB’s for denials and necessary re-submissions
Working with accounts receivable for timely collection of outstanding balances
Assisting clinicians in ensuring necessary prior authorizations are in place
