General Nature of Work
The Human Resources Assistant, will be an HR professional who will be responsible for the daily administrative and HR duties of the practice. The ideal candidate will be able to assist with recruitment, be the custodian of our records, along with assisting with payroll processing as well as provide clerical support to the Human Resources Department.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting with all day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties
  • Providing clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources executive (CHRO)
  • Compiling and updating employee records (hard and soft copies)
  • Assist with the processing of the bi-weekly payroll and its functions
  • Be the liaison between the employees and HR, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of concerns
  • Assists with staffing and recruiting needs, schedule phone calls, interviews etc…
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and process documentation and prepares reports relating to personnel activities.
  • Point of contact for all facets of HR questions but will escalate issues out of scope to HR Manager or CHRO for guidance and assistance.
  • Assists HR Manager with FMLA, and will be responsible for tracking FMLA for the county
  • Process Workers Compensation claims
  • Assists with HR projects and take minutes
  • Assists with basic benefits administration inquiries
  • Properly handle inquiries within HR procedures then escalating the issues to Manager/CHRO
  • Assists in the creation of policies, processes, and any other HR documentation
  • Process PO's, and other areas for the department and submitting to Finance
  • Assists with new hire orientation and onboarding along with offboarding process
  • Additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of Microsoft office including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc…
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment/labor laws

  • Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and understand and interpret policies and regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders, and Manager/CHRO
  • Ability to prepare documents in response to complaints and inquiries
  • Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Ability to be up to date with HR concepts and best practices

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED but a bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • 1-2 years of administrative or office work but human resources experience is preferred

Physical Requirements: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.

Work Environment: Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
