Department’s position of Road and Bridge Worker. The duties listed below are representative of this position, but do not necessarily include all the duties that an individual in this position may be asked to perform.
Supervised by: Road & Bridge Team Leader
Supervises: N/A
Pay Grade: NE5 - $17.36 - $23.46
Hiring Range: $17.36 - $20.43 per hour depending on experience
FLSA status: Non-Exempt - Full-Time
Open until filled or for a minimum of one week
Main Job Duties:
- Performs manual labor as a helper on a crew assignment.
- Assists with the maintenance of roads, ground and/or equipment.
- Assists in the clearing of trees and branches, shoveling, digging and removing rock, flagging, repairing fences and signs.
- Assists crews in the installation, maintenance and repair of culverts.
- May be called upon to operate automotive and light maintenance equipment such as chainsaws and power hand tools.
- Drives to various locations to perform assigned duties.
Additional Job Duties:
- When qualified by supervisory personnel, employee may be called upon to plow snow with light- and medium-duty vehicles.
- Perform other duties assigned by Director of Public Works, Public Works Road Supervisor and/or Team Leaders and any duties needed to stabilize an emergency situation.
Hours:
- Subject to involuntary overtime and/or irregular work hours for snow removal and emergencies in addition to the normal 40-hour workweek. Must be available for emergency call-in.
Salary : $17 - $20
