Job Summary
The Entertainment Stage Technician is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and operating sound and lighting systems for performances and events at various locations within Gilroy Gardens. This role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality audio and lighting for park entertainment, while maintaining equipment and supporting the Entertainment Department as needed.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with sound systems, audio mixing, and basic lighting operations, along with the ability to troubleshoot and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
This is a seasonal position. 16-32 hours a week during spring operation and/ or in accordance to business needs.
Rate : $17.00
Responsibilities:
- Configure and operate sound systems for shows and events across multiple park locations.
- Provide audio support for live performers, including running prerecorded audio and mixing live audio.
- Troubleshoot and maintain park audio equipment to ensure reliability and performance.
- Protect equipment from weather, theft, and misuse, ensuring its longevity.
- Coordinate with IT to provide portable sound equipment for events.
- Perform basic lighting tasks as required, including configuring and maintaining entertainment lighting systems.
- Assist the Entertainment Department with various tasks as needed to support park operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Must be at least 17 years old.
- High school or college theater technology classes, community theater experience, or equivalent training required.
- Hands-on experience with wireless and wired microphones, soundboards, amplifiers, and speakers is essential.
- Lighting experience is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of projection video systems is a plus.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying seasonal weather conditions.
- Ability to follow written and Oral instructions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Able to work days, evenings weekend, and holidays to meet business needs.
- Reliable transportation is required.
Physical Demands:
This position requires physical activities that are appropriate to the role, including lifting, standing, and moving equipment as needed:
- Must be able to carry, push, pull, lift, grip, grasp, and hold objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- The role demands frequent standing, loud, noise twisting, occasional slippery surfaces, moderate to high heat and humidity
- Moderate sitting, bending, kneeling, and reaching above shoulders.
