What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Toddler Teacher position at GIM Place Preschool?
Our Preschool is a Korean-American dual-language immersion program. We are looking for an experienced and caring Assistant Toddler Teacher to assist in our full-day program.
You will be working with our lead toddler teacher to prepare children for school both academic and social development by using age-appropriate lesson plans, selecting effective developmental materials for the classroom, and utilizing positive behavior reinforcement. You will also provide parents with regular updates on their child’s progress through daily communication, positive interactions, and relationship building.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create a safe, engaging learning environment that is cohesive with the school's culture
*Collaborate with other teachers to develop age-appropriate curriculum
*Prepare for lessons by gathering materials or setting up activities
*Support the development of learning, as well as, social-emotional
growth
*Read stories and lead students through alphabet and letter
recognition
*Engage and encourage students to use their language skills; develop
social skills and manners
*Monitor students’ playtime and physical activities
*Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce
learning of materials
*Enforce school-wide safety procedures, disciplinary codes, and
rewards
*Supervise students in class, between classes, during lunch, and play
periods
*Ensure space and shared toys are clean, sanitized, and orderly
*Document student developments and progress to share with parents
Requirements and Qualifications
*High school diploma or GED certificate
- CDA credential a plus
- At least three years of teaching or child care experience
- First aid and CPR certification
- Proficient in technology usage
- Independently carry a minimum of 40lbs
