POSITION SUMMARY
The Events Team at Ginger and Baker is made up of the Events Director, three Events Coordinators – Business and Community Events Coordinator, Lifestyle Events Coordinator, Teaching Kitchen Coordinator – our Guest Experience Specialist, Events Chef and their Culinary Team as well as a dedicated team of event servers and bartenders.
As an integral member of the events team, the Lifestyle Events Coordinator is instrumental in developing and fulfilling the short/long-term goals for the business and executing the Ginger and Baker’s mission and vision through excellent planning and event execution. This position plans and executes all Lifestyle events for the business, and assists in others as needed, including but not limited to weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, bridal and baby showers, graduations, birthdays, memorial services, retirement parties, proposals, engagement celebrations and more! This position is responsible for creating an atmosphere and experience that will inspire guests to celebrate, learn, host events and to return. This individual works to plan and communicate with a team of chefs, servers, bartenders, prep cooks and managers in every department of the business to create seamless events and memorable guest experiences. A key part of every employee’s job is to serve as a Ginger and Baker ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
This position focuses on supporting the sales, planning and execution of events by maintaining our high standards, values and norms of business.
  • Drive guest satisfaction and repeat event bookings by delivering service excellence throughout each event and during the planning process.
  • Ensures seamless guest communication via phone calls, emails, TripleSeat communications and in person meetings meeting the guest however they would like to communicate and plan. Provide prompt and accurate responses to all guest requests.
  • Provides guidance to guests to cover and plan every detail of events through the planning process.
  • Established clear and timely communication and planning within Ginger and Baker event processes with every department of the business.
  • Negotiates contracts, food and beverage, function space, and services that meet or exceed Ginger and Baker revenue goals.
  • Works to support the sales goals of the events team on a monthly and yearly basis.
  • Conducts tours of the property and event facilities.
  • Directs and assists set up team to prepare function spaces for events.
  • Represents Ginger and Baker at community and industry events as necessary.
  • Learns all event menus, beverage menus and can step in to serve and take orders during an event as needed.
  • Works to lead events on-site from set up through closing, leading a team of servers and bartenders at each event. This requires a frequently varied schedule with early mornings, late evenings and weekend events.
  • Openly and honestly communicate feedback to servers, bartenders, chefs and colleagues including leading server and bartender performance reviews and scheduling.
  • Perform any reasonable tasks as requested by management.
SCHEDULE
This is not a Monday thru Friday job. It requires a flexible and variable schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and some holidays.

  • Event Software (TripleSeat)
  • Staff Communication and Scheduling Software (Sling, Shiftnote)
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Must possess minimum Associates college degree or equivalent educational experience and/or two or more years of relevant hotel, venue, catering or event management experience.
  • Must possess good knowledge of hospitality, service, wine and spirit service.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have or obtain TIPS, first aid and ServSafe/County required certifications. Ginger and Baker will provide training and certification if not currently certified.
