Ginger Cove is currently seeking a Full-Time Staff Development/Quality Assurance Manager to support our community.  

The Staff Development/Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for working in accordance with the established mission, vision and values policies, and procedures of Ginger Cove. Plans, directs and coordinates the organization’s QA Program and QAPI Program. Ensures the facility follows the regulatory requirements relating to staff education. Provides services associated with ongoing professional development of staff at the facility to enhance the knowledge and professional performance of Ginger Cove employees. Creates a learning environment that aligns with the Ginger Cove Mission & Vision Statement promoting a quality abundant life, meeting the social, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of all residents. Arranges education needed for competencies to meet Federal and State regulations and arranges education for deficiency’s recognized among staff.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of Staff Development:

  • Identify and define employee's present and future training and development needs ensuring consistency with core competencies, standards and company goals.
  • Prioritize, plan, design, implement and evaluate programs and initiatives utilizing the latest instructional technologies, addressing both training and developmental needs of Ginger Cove employees. (Differentiated Learning)
  • Designs educational curriculum and materials; making modifications as needed.
  • Identify appropriate learning delivery method that promotes professional excellence for all clinical and non-clinical roles.
  • Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for all professional development presentations.
  • Directs the design, planning, development and implementation of training programs aligned with the objectives and strategies of the company.
  • Collaborates with functional management teams to assess ongoing and future training and development needs as well as effectiveness of established programs, identifying strategies and ensuring alignment with overarching objectives.
  • Develops a delivery program schedule that provides training as needed and in locations that work for the participants.
  • Provides engaging communications about program information to encourage participation and highlight the value and benefits of training.
  • Approves new training techniques and suggests enhancements to existing training programs.
  • Ensure that all federal and state regulatory requirements are met.
  • Ensure adherence to current industry standards and practices.
  • Develop group and individual learning courses.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and coordinate competency completion.
  • Ensure for or deliver annual mandatory and continuous education for staff using internal or external resources according to state and federal regulations and company policy.
  • Maintain employee education and training.
  • May assist in the screening and hiring of nursing staff.
  • Complete required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
  • Follow up with leadership and management in each department to ensure positive outcomes and achievement of results.
  • Stay up to date: ensure a constant development of professional skills, certifications and personal course completions through attending workshops/seminars, reviewing professional publications, participating in professional industry associations to be fully prepared to deliver content to Ginger Cove staff.
  • Assists in leading training and in-service meetings throughout the year
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Duties & Responsibilities of Quality Assurance (QA) Manager:

  • Oversees the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Schedules additional meetings of the full and partial steering committees for implementing QAPI plans.
  • Gathers QAPI project reports from all departments and reviews them for accuracy.
  • Prepares QAPI reports for any regulatory entities, the Nursing Home Ombudsman, Family and Resident Councils.
  • Develops annual QAPI Plan.
  • Assists staff in identifying problem areas and utilizing the QAPI process in problem solving; collecting and analyzing data, developing tools, performing audits, evaluating the results and implementing and effecting changes.
  • Evaluates data provided by the CMS Quality Indicators/Quality Measures with the Administrator and Director of Nursing and coordinates changes/interventions required with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintains current knowledge of governmental regulations and assists the Administrator and Director of Nursing in maintaining compliance.
  • Educates staff in the QAPI Plan and facilitates staff involvement in the QAPI process.
  • Works with Compliance Officials to ensure that Ginger Cove is working is the full ethics of the regulations of the government.
  • Coordinates on-going monitoring of the clinical standards of care and regulations.
  • Provides on-call availability on assigned weekends.
  • Required to respond to phone within the hour of attempted correspondence. In situations where standing Supervisor is unable to manage and/or an incident requiring outside services occurs, may be required to come onto campus.
  • Conducts audits campus-wide as needed.
  • Participates in other committees as assigned.
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
  • Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behaviors set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of duties.
  • Adheres to the Organization’s policies and procedures regarding the Compliance Program of the organization and is timely in reporting possible concerns.
  • Follows all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to the position.
  • Adheres to the Organization’s policies and procedures regarding Privacy and Security in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Must be familiar with and complete training relating to Risk Management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS or BA in Nursing, MSN preferred (may consider extensive professional experience in lieu of degree)
  • Five (5) years of RN experience providing direct nursing care for extended care and/or transitional clinically skilled/rehabilitation patients or recent clinical experience in acute care setting
  • Two (2) years of Nursing Education and/or Quality Assurance/Improvement (or practical experience as obtained through routine audits, compliance reviews, post-survey/plan of correction audits, in-servicing, et al.)
  • At least two to three years of experience in a long-term care facility setting.
  • Quality Assurance and Improvement management or teaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience working with senior communities.
  • Experience caring for residents with Alzheimer’s and/or dementia.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to organize, supervise, delegate and provide leadership.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Must have a valid form of federally issued ID.
  • Must have current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Must present self in a professional manner.
  • Must possess concern, responsiveness, and tact when dealing with others.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with others to help colleagues to achieve respective goals for creating wellness opportunities and experiences for our residents.
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified time frame.
