What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Giovanni Rana?
Purpose of Position
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for performing day to day accounting transactions to ensure accurate financial and administrative operations. This position is responsible for collaborating with various departments to gather and analyze various financial data to ensure its accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Matching and recording vendor invoices
- Recording direct entry invoices. Also responsible for any necessary documentation or analysis needed and getting the necessary approval
- Maintenance of vendor records
- Review and resolution of any vendor issues, including unmatched vouchers, mismatched vouchers, missing invoices, etc.
- Monthly commission calculations, recording and sending back up documents
- Maintenance of vendor relations. Respond to vendors requests
- Processing new vendor applications, collecting all necessary documents
- Maintenance of vendor master file, including updating the ERP system
- Weekly travel between Rana locations, as needed
- Work on special projects assigned by management
- Perform all duties as assigned
Key Skills and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required, Associates in Account or business-related field preferred.
- At least 1 year experience in an accounting environment, Accounts Payable preferred
- Demonstrated experience in accounting operations
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures
- Strong communication and people skills
- Must be self-motivated, flexible, hands-on, and able to work in a fast paced, multitask environment
- Must have excellent organizational and time management skills
- Overall proficiency with personal computer, including competence in Excel and ERP systems
