About the Position
This is an on-site role for a Nursery / Preschool Assistant Teacher at GIRAFAS, available as either Part-time (25 hours / week) or Full-time (40 hours / week). We are seeking energetic, caring, and creative individuals fluent in Portuguese to join our dedicated team. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting the lead teacher, assisting with daily classroom activities, providing effective communication, and fostering a nurturing environment where young children can learn, grow, and thrive. Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements :
- Fluency in Portuguese (required).
- Authorization to work in the U.S. (required).
- Proficiency in English (preferred but not required).
- Educational Requirements : Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or relevant field; or enrollment in an accredited ECE program or related field (required).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children (required), with at least 1 year in a nursery or preschool setting (preferred).
- Knowledge of Montessori principles is a plus.
- Ability to pass a background check, fingerprinting, and complete a current medical exam.
- Willingness to obtain or maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills, with the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach to working with staff, children, and families.
