Head Strength and Conditioning Coach-Weight Room Monitor
Girard College is looking for 2 candidates for the position of Head Strength and Conditioning Coach-Weight Room Monitor. The position is responsible for overseeing the safe operation of equipment in the Girard College fitness center and developing, implementing, and monitoring strength and conditioning programs for Girard College student-athletes to improve overall performance in their respective sport. The successful candidate determines the physical health of the athletes and works with their respective coaches to develop a plan to optimize performance.
The monitor will also be responsible for working with members of the Girard College community including students, faculty, and staff who are using the facilities.

Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is the safe operation of equipment and participants’ training in the Girard College fitness center. The monitor will also develop, implement, and monitor strength and conditioning programs for the Girard College student-athletes.
Required Skills
- Design, implement, and supervise strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes.
- Assess athletes’ physical and mental health.
- Develop individualized plans for athletes to improve performance.
- Monitor the student-athletes’ progress and adjust plans accordingly.
- Provide guidance and support to student-athletes.
- Educate student-athletes on proper nutrition, rest, and recovery.
- Analyze the physical capabilities of the student-athletes and design programs to improve them.
- Collaborate with the coaches, trainers, and medical staff.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the student-athletes.
- Be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time, and possibly work outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
- Be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Maintain knowledge of the current trends and best practices in the field.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Possess strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Required Duties
- The safety of all students, faculty, and staff utilizing the room.
- Assuring the proper use of all equipment.
- Daily check of the equipment condition and safety.
- Perform routine maintenance if necessary.
- Assist weight room users in conditioning and training principles.
Qualifications
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Sports Science, Kinesiology, or related field is required. The candidate must have a minimum of three years of experience on the high school, collegiate, or professional level in strength and conditioning. He/she must also be a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) member.
Hours
- School Hours: Two positions: (1) Monday through Wednesday 3 pm to 8 pm AND (2)Thursday and Friday 3 pm to 8 pm, Saturday 10 am to 2 pm.
- Hours: Anticipate that hours will vary during school breaks when students are not on campus during the school year and summer break. Hours: The candidate is expected to be flexible for summer workouts and pre-season workouts which could include weekend hours.
Required Certifications:
- FBI fingerprint clearance.
- PA child abuse history clearance.
- PA criminal background clearance.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Salary : $20
