A Day in the Life as a Commercial Systems Technical Product Specialist
As a Commercial Systems Technical Product Specialist, you will will provide daily phone support by communicating and directing end users and/or distributor technicians to a safe and sequential diagnosis of required repairs relative to field service and product installation issues. This is also a hands-on type of position where you will routinely repair various types of commercial laundry equipment. Responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing manufacturer level technical service issues for customers and distributor service personnel relating to product installation and service questions.
- Assisting in-house and external salespeople and consumers regarding issues related to product installation and operating requirements.
- Performing service training assistance as required both in house and at distributor locations.
- When qualified, traveling to customer location to perform maintenance and/or training.
- Assisting in creation and development of product improvement/technical support projects, service-related videos, and technical bulletins.
- Testing, troubleshooting, repairing, converting, and rebuilding Girbau branded products, as needed.
- Assisting with basic building maintenance.
What You Need
- Associate's degree in an electrical or mechanical related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
- 2 years of field service experience in the commercial laundry industry or related field.
- Solid electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic technological aptitude.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and/or wiring and editing existing diagrams.
- Solid understanding of electrical diagnostics and service of electronic and electromechanical components.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
