Position Overview
The Aquatics Director plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and enjoyable operation of our waterfront and pool facilities. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to motivate others.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan and execute waterfront and pool activities, supervising staff and participating in general camp activities.
- Train and supervise the waterfront and lifeguard staff during pre-camp and throughout camp sessions.
- Conduct regular swimming assessments of campers' abilities and provide instruction in water safety, swimming, boating, and canoeing if certified as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.
- Maintain waterfront safety measures, adhering to Girl Scout, American Camping Association, and New York State Department of Health standards.
- Oversee the care and use of boats, canoes, lifesaving equipment, and other supplies.
