What are the responsibilities and job description for the Annual Giving Officer position at GIRL SCOUTS IN THE HEART OF PA?
Under the guidance and supervision of Director of Development, Annual Giving Officer is responsible for planning and implementing strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship off individual donors to support the mission of the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania.
Annual Giving Officer will focus on strategically expanding the organization's annual giving program with a goal of significantly increasing the base of annual gifts through frontline prospect and donor management.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain positive relationships with individual donors, volunteers, and community stakeholders through personal visits, email correspondence, phone and video meetings.
- Attend community events and speaking engagements on behalf of the organization.
- Plan and execute steps for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for annual donor giving.
- Interface with Program and Membership Teams to aid in volunteer to donor conversion.
- Work closely with Marketing and Communications to develop and manage consistent messaging to donors and prospects that aligns with solicitation and donor-specific stewardship communications.
- Work effectively with Chief Development Officer to identify new donors and build strategies for engaging and encouraging donors to give at higher levels.
- Coordinate all aspects for timely and effective donor recognition and stewardship.
- Assist in planning and coordinating donor appreciation and alumnae engagement events.
- Maintain consistent communication with the alumnae group, including news, events, volunteer and donor opportunities, and inquiries.
- Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of council-wide initiatives and/or cross functional teams to further the mission of the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, or equivalent experience required.
- Five years of fundraising or relationship management experience and proven track record of high performance.
- Ability to collect, organize and analyze data related to donor giving.
- Well versed in direct mail and digital solicitation best practices and implementation.
- Excellent organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude and passion for playing a role in fulfilling the organization's mission.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Work a flexible schedule, to include nights and weekends as needed.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; access to reliable transportation required.
- Travel throughout the council, as needed.
- Sitting, standing or walking for a moderate period of time is required.
- Lift/carry 30 pounds.
