Experience a summer of “Big Dreams, Big Possibilities!” Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines seeks dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to be part of our 2025 Summer Camp Team at Camp Mary Atkinson, Selma, NC, and Camp Graham, Henderson, NC.

We have an opening for an Assistant Camp Director for our residential (overnight) camps at Camp Mary Atkinson, Selma, NC, and Camp Graham, Henderson, NC.
Position: Camp Unit Counselor
Location: Camp Mary Atkinson, Selma, NC and Camp Graham, Henderson, NC
Duration: Summer 2025 (May-August)
Compensation: Weekly salary of $649.00, including housing and meals after training.

Here’s how it works:
- $250 Mid-Summer Bonus: If hired, you will receive this at the end of June.
- $250 Completion Bonus: Earn this at the end of summer camp completion.

- Supervise Campers and Staff: The Assistant Camp Director supervises the resident (overnight) camp program including food service, programming, and, camper and staff supervision.

Requirements
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment Visas at this time.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Experience in resident camps or youth programming.
- Current certification or ability to obtain or become certified in First Aid/CPR. Training will be provided.
- Ability to supervise staff and campers.
- Ability to relate well to others.
- Ability to plan, originate, organize, and carry out daily and special programs.
- Commitment to the aim and purpose of the Girl Scout movement.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate and work with girls and adults and provide necessary instruction to staff.
- Ability to listen to others.
- Ability to observe others’ actions and respond appropriately.
- Ability to read text and information and understand it.
- Ability to comprehend instructions and manuals.
- Willing to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours with limited or simple equipment and facilities with daily exposure to the sun, heat, and animals such as bugs, snakes, bats, etc.
- Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
- Ability to observe staff behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate management techniques.
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
- Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
