Position Summary
Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri (GSEM) is seeking an Engagement and Belonging Coordinator. This role will support the mission of the Council by working with the Chief of Engagement and Belonging Officer and other key stakeholders to promote a sense of belonging for all. The EBC is responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders to assist in coordinating activities, events and training and providing administrative support while creating inclusive practices throughout the GSEM Council for all girls, volunteers, staff, and membership.
At Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri, most of our roles work in a hybrid capacity (in office, remote, and/or in the field). Details will be provided during the interview process.

The position is full time with a competitive minimum starting annual salary of $50,673.
Essential Job Duties
- Promote and provide leadership for the causes of girl empowerment, access and belonging.
- Advocate to increase engagement, empowerment, and accessibility among the Council, volunteers, and all girls.
- Participate in the establishment and implementation of organizational initiatives, objectives, strategies, and best practices.
- Assist with coordinating and providing training opportunities for volunteers and Council members.
- Recognize and support all specialized programming and work collaboratively with the Marketing Communications team.
- Research best practices, leverage demographic data and survey results to identify gaps, inform programs, and create a sense of belonging for all.
- Assist the Chief Engagement and Belonging Officer in establishing and maintaining relationships with community organizations.
- Assist with planning and facilitating training and development, and educational programming for Council members and staff.
- Serve as a collaborative team member, working to advance the mission of Girl Scouts.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required; Masters degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of professional experience leading workplace training and development to support engagement and belonging initiatives.
- Valid state drivers license, proof of insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to our insurance carrier.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage simultaneous initiatives, and operate effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to initiate creative and innovative engagement opportunities and belonging and accessibility support strategies.
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with other members of the council and external community, displaying empathetic confidence as well as emotional intelligence.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and other general office equipment.
- Organized thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to speak and present confidently and credibly in public.
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers, and to represent the organization in a professional manner.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
- Ability to attend meetings and events, including on occasional evenings and weekends.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time operating a computer, including navigating websites, software platforms, spreadsheets and both electronic and paper documents.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copier, and computer printer.
Occasionally positions self to maintain files in file cabinets.
May need to move boxes weighing up to 25 pounds across office for various needs.
The ability to observe details at close range and at a distance.
Is required to drive/ operate an automobile.
Work Environment
Constantly works in an indoor professional office environment. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
