Description
As a Philanthropy Intern, you will work directly with our Office of Philanthropy staff who are responsible for advancing the mission of Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri (GSEM) through fundraising and donor engagement. This internship will be approximately 10-20 hours per week and is eligible for college credit, if applicable. Interns are paid minimum wage (currently $13.75) per hour worked.
Essential Functions
- Support corporate sponsorship efforts by enlisting sponsors in the $500 to $2,500 range for the Girl Scout Cookie Run (5K), including outreach, follow-up, and documentation.
- Conduct prospect research on corporate partners aligned with GSEM’s mission, focusing on businesses that support youth-serving agencies.
- Assist with planning and logistics for the Gifts for Girls Trefoil Tribute Week in August, including event support and donor engagement activities.
- Gain an overview on grant writing and management.
- Provide prospect research on individual donors to help grow the organization’s individual giving pipeline.

Work Location
This position is a hybrid position that will require days in the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri office, as well as remote work. Please note that most work will be on-site.

Qualifications
Interns must be enrolled in a graduate, bachelor's or associate's degree program and have completed at least one (1) semester of college. Interns must be pursuing a degree relevant to the role. Interns may or may not receive academic credit for the internship. If an intern seeks academic credit for the internship, it is up to the intern to establish this through their educational institution.
Internships are temporary assignments offered for up to a maximum of four (4) semester periods. Intern work scheduled may vary depending upon course credit requirements, intern scheduling preferences, needs for time off, etc. Interns may work up to twenty (20) hours per week during the school year and up to thirty (30) hours per week during the summer.
