About The Role
The Part-Time Outdoor facilitator is responsible for staffing and/or facilitating outdoor adventure activities and large program events. They are also responsible for occasionally presenting programs to groups of school-aged girls based on pre-established curriculums. Oversee the set-up, delivery, and take down of weekend programs, both indoors and outdoors. Able to communicate clearly with girls, parents, volunteers, stakeholders, and colleagues. Apply today!
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure the implementation of council-wide programming activities.
- Able to get trained in a variety of outdoor adventure programs such as high ropes, rock climbing, teams course, caving, canoeing, kayaking, and more.
- Able to work independently and in collaboration with colleagues and volunteers.
- Record attendance at program events and report this data to supervisor.
- Responsible for the safety of girls in attendance at weekend programs.
- Works in partnership with the Manager of Outdoor Programs, Manager of GSLE, and Director of Programming.
- Works with volunteers to ensure the safety and experience of participating girls.
- Comfort and ability to facilitate outdoor events in a variety of weather and temperature conditions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
- High School Diploma
Experience
- Experience with outdoors and willingness to be outdoors
- Willingness to become certified in outdoor activities
- At least one year experience working with youth groups preferred.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with supervisors and fellow facilitators
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Girl Scout program, principles, and standards.
