Title : Intern, Nonprofit Administration
Reports to : Director of Human Resources & Governance
LOCATION : Grand Rapids Service Center
Compensation : $15.00 / hour, 10 hours / week for a 15-week term; College Credit Eligible
POSITION SUMMARY : Supports work in human resources, finance, fund development and communications to gain abroad experience of nonprofit administration. This may include : Accounts Payable, donor database functions, governance, recruitment tasks, personnel recordkeeping, web articles, program marketing materials, and social media
content.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Supports the human resources department with work related to recruitment, governance, and employee relations.
- Supports finance department with work related to accounts payable.
- Supports fund development department with work related to the donor database, grant writing, and fundraising.
- Comprehension of functionality of communications department with work related to website management, e-newsletters, council social media and marketing campaigns, council press releases, and program department marketing materials.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.

Ability to work independently and accurately under the pressure of multiple deadlines.Must have strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including exceptional customer service skills, and ability to interact with all levels of the organization as well as external contacts.Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office and working knowledge of donor database is a plus.Must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting multiple staff.Requirements
Enrolled in the Grand Valley State University Community-Based Work-Study ProgramAdherence to Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore policies and procedures.Upholds GSUSA Brand Guidelines regarding use of branded materials, logos, and brand voice.Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.Willingness to travel as internship requires.Capability to provide own transportation and maintain valid operator license.Salary Description
