Camp Birch Trails - Irma, Wisconsin
*GSNWGL will consider extra compensation for bilingual speakers (Spanish or Hmong).
1. Health & Safety Director - 21 yrs preferred
CBT-live on site or can live at home-Starting $600/week or hourly salary negotiable.
CPR/First Aid/Lifeguarding/Wilderness First Aid-required or can obtain
Preferred Nursing, Wilderness First Responder, EMT, WEMT, DR.
The Health and Safety Director is responsible for the health and safety of all the campers and camp staff. They will provide care to injuries and accidents as well as distribute medication and create first aid kits. This is a leadership position which is part of the Center Staff team, indirectly supervises staff, and is a resource in problem solving and programming with campers and staff. This is a seasonal position.

3. Waterfront Specialist
CBT-live on site-Starting at $360/week
CPR/First Aid-required-Lifeguarding required or can obtain
The Waterfront Specialist is responsible for all the waterfront activities that occur as part of the camp program, including but not limited to swimming, boating, and other beach activities. They are responsible for maintaining the waterfront, boats, supplies, and toys. This is a leadership position which is part of the Center Staff team, who supervises the lifeguards and serves as an appropriate role model and leader for all staff and children at camp. This is a seasonal position and is required to live on camp property throughout the duration of the position.
4. Assistant Cook-18 min.
CBT-live on site-Starting at $340/week
CPR/First Required
The Assistant Cook is responsible for assisting the Head Cook with meal and snack preparation and execution as well as cleaning and planning. They will ensure health and safety standards are being met at all times and accommodations for camper and staff dietary restrictions are prepared. They will serve as a mentor to the Camp Assistants. This is a seasonal position and it is helpful to live on-site for the duration of the position however not required.
5. Counselor-18yrs-
CBT-8 positions available-must live on site-Starting $320/week
CPR/First Aid-required-Lifeguarding-preferred or can obtain but not required
The Counselors are responsible for leading programs on a weekly basis and ensuring program requirements are being met. They will provide a safe, fun and inclusive environment for all the campers and encourage them to try new things. Additionally, they will participate and facilitate in the production of camp operations and themes. This is a seasonal position and is required to live on camp property throughout the duration of the position.
6. Driver- 21yrs min
CBT-live on site-Starting at $340/week
CPR/First Aid required
The Driver is responsible for the maintenance and logistics of camp vehicles and trailers as well as general maintenance around camp. This position manages the driving schedules and assists in the driving of wilderness trips and daily field trips. They will supervise drivers, assist in routine vehicle safety checks maintenance as well as training drivers. This is a leadership position that is part of the Center Staff team and acts as a resource in problem-solving and programming with campers and staff. This is a seasonal position and is required to live on camp property throughout the duration of the position for the Camp Birch Trails positions.
7. Trip Director- 21yrs min
CBT-must live on site- Starting at $450/week
CPR/First Aid/Lifeguarding/Wilderness First Aid - required or can obtain
The Trip Director is responsible for the day to day operations of the wilderness trip department. They will ensure all trips follow health and safety standards as well as manages food and equipment requests for all trips. This is a leadership position which is part of the Center Staff team, directly supervises Trip Leaders and Assistant, and is a resource in problem solving and programming with campers and staff. This is a seasonal position and is required to live on camp property throughout the duration of the position.
8. Art Specialist- 18yrs min 21 preferred
CBT-must live on site- Starting at $360/week
CPR/First Aid/Lifeguarding - required or can obtain
The Art Specialist is responsible for the management of the Maple Building at camp (the art facility). They are responsible for the management of all arts and craft activities and weekly tie dye sessions with the programs as well as maintaining all arts and craft equipment while ensuring the health and safety of campers. They will assist in supervision, monitoring, and participate in all aspects of camp. This is a leadership position which is part of the Center Staff team, indirectly supervises staff, and is a resource in problem solving and programming with campers and staff. This is a seasonal position and is required to live on camp property throughout the duration of the position.
9. Sports Specialist- 18yrs min 21 preferred
CBT- must live on site- Starting at $360/week
The Sports Specialist is responsible for preparing and leading campers in all sport and adventure programs including team building activities, the low ropes course, archery, and playfield activities. They will assist in supervision, monitoring, and participate in all aspects of camp. This is a leadership position which is part of the Center Staff team, indirectly supervises staff, and is a resource in problem solving and programming with campers and staff. This is a seasonal position and is required to live on camp property throughout the duration of the position.
10. Trip Leader- 18yrs min 21 preferred
CBT- 6 positions- must live on site- Starting at $350/week
CPR/First Aid/Lifeguarding/Wilderness First Aid - All required or can obtain
The Trip Leader(s) is responsible for leading safe and educational wilderness trips for campers. They will develop an awareness of Leave No Trace camping and teach campers how to survive and enjoy tripping in the backcountry. This is a position that will serve as a leader and mentor to campers throughout the summer. This is a seasonal position and is required to live on camp property and on trail throughout the duration of the position.
11. Camp Assistants-16-17 yrs old
CBT-4 positions-must live on site-Starting $240/week
The Camp Assistant(s) (also known as a CA) is responsible for assisting with duties around camp with most focus on work in the kitchen. They will assist with preparing and cleaning all meals and snacks on a daily basis. Occasionally they will aid in camp cleaning, program assistance and activities with groups. This is a seasonal position and is required to live on camp property throughout the duration of the position. *Prerequisite to have completed Counselor in Training II at Camp Birch Trails.
Requirements
Required Experience:
Previous camp experience. Minimum of 18 years old unless applying for Camp Assistant position
CPR/First Aid-required, Life guarding-preferred or can obtain but not required.
Should be available from mid-May through mid/late-August
Salary : $510 - $600
