A day in the life of a MarCom Specialist at Girl Scouts of Utah is a dynamic mix of strategy, content creation, and community engagement. The morning might start with a team meeting to align on marketing campaigns, ensuring that messaging supports recruitment, membership retention, and fundraising goals. Afterward, the specialist collaborates with internal departments to develop promotional materials for an upcoming event, crafting compelling content for email newsletters, blog posts, and printed collateral. Midday, they might refine messaging for a new recruitment campaign, ensuring it resonates with diverse audiences and aligns with Girl Scouts' brand guidelines. The afternoon could involve attending a community event, capturing photos and stories to highlight the impact of Girl Scouts, followed by analyzing campaign performance and engagement data to inform future strategies. As the day wraps up, they may prepare a presentation for leadership, outlining marketing successes and opportunities for growth. Whether creating impactful content, supporting membership initiatives, or engaging with the community, the MarCom Specialist plays a crucial role in expanding the reach and visibility of Girl Scouts of Utah.
Requirements : QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a marketing role, preferably within a community-focused or membership-based organization.
Proficiency in marketing tools and platforms (Adobe Experience Manager, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, social media).
Experience in email marketing, familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud being advantageous.
Basic knowledge of web content management systems, with preference for experience in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), with experience on the PC platform preferred.
Proficient in social media tools and analytics.
Technical understanding of publication production.
Skills :
A commitment and passion for the Girl Scout mission and an ability to effectively promote and communicate the mission and vision of Girl Scouts to internal and external stakeholders
Strong writing skills, with experience in social media management and content creation.
Ability to identify target audiences and develop engaging campaigns. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and project management abilities, and a willingness to learn.
Goal-oriented and results-driven, with experience working in diverse environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to identify target audiences and develop engaging campaigns.
Technical understanding of publication production
Capable of receiving and implementing feedback effectively.
Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective interdepartmental relationships.
Proven ability to manage multiple and competing projects concurrently in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
Collaborative, transparent, and inclusive work approach.
Highly organized, ability to multitask, handle pressure, and meet deadlines.
Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred, but not required.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends for special events.
Girl Scout experience or knowledge is a plus.
