Girl Experience Program Manager - Cincinnati

GSWO is seeking a Girl Experience Program Manager to join our Cincinnati team! At Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, everything centers around the girls, it's what makes Girl Scouts truly unique; our programs are designed by, with and for the girls. Our Program Managers are responsible for creating and leading opportunities that enhance the girl experience and provides opportunities for fun and challenging activities to help Girl Scouts learn, grow and thrive. Some of our program opportunities include badges, awards, outdoor or camping experiences, community service - where our girls take action in their own communities and attend fun field trips and events! Our ideal candidate enjoys working with youth, creating and maintaining community and corporate partnerships, organizing and planning events and believes in girl leadership empowerment. Programs are often held during evenings and weekends; therefore, candidates must be available for regular evening and weekend work.

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE

Design and provide oversight on programs and events that align with the organization's mission and support the organization's goals. Ensure program and event milestones / goals are met and adhere to approved budgets. The Program Manager is responsible to build community partnerships and develop resources to support the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and manage a strategic, multi-year, data-based plan to address ongoing success of council initiatives and priorities
  • Create, implement and evaluate council-sponsored events for girls in grades K-12 based on the councils strategic planning, organizational goals and Girl Scout outcomes
  • Cultivate and oversee a portfolio of high-quality community-based partnerships, guiding external organizations to align their program opportunities with GSUSA’s National Program
  • Manage Girl Scout program volunteers and administrative committees to support member retention and Girl Scout strategic goals and outcomes
  • Support the administration of volunteer-led day camps for the council including, but not limited to, the camps risk management, financial stewardship and program processes
  • Oversee the creation and management of the budget for council-sponsored events and initiatives to meet council revenue targets and manage expenses
  • Guide members in following our risk management policies as noted in the Volunteer Essentials and Safety Activity Checkpoints

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

    This is a full-time position. The days of work are primarily Monday through Friday, with frequent Saturday and occasional evening and Sunday work required. Hours of work will vary, depending on support required by service units and time of year.

    TRAVEL

    This is an “in the field” position requiring regular travel to assigned geographic areas of the council and mileage reimbursement.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma, Bachelors preferred, or equivalent work experience in related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Demonstrated experience and comfortable working with youth required
  • Experience in program management - creating, leading and implementing community-based programs required
  • Ability to work in a team environment with commitment to contributing to the organizational goals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

    Must be available to work evening and weekends. Must possess a valid state driver's license and functioning vehicle for work within the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio region. Successful completion of fingerprinting and a criminal background check as required by Ohio law. Commitment to making a difference in girls’ lives as expressed in the Ends statements; mission and goals for girls, as noted in the Board Policy Manual.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
