We are hiring remarkable summer camp staff to serve as a Tripping Coordinator for our 2025 camp season!

Working at a Girl Scout resident or day camp offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of girls while enjoying a rewarding and adventure-filled summer. As a camp staff member, you’ll play a vital role in helping girls grow in confidence, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships in a supportive environment.

We are seeking a high-energy Tripping Coordinator who will demonstrate the excitement of camp, lead girls in fun and memorable adventures, and take initiative to ensure a healthy and safe camp environment. Successful candidates will share their enthusiasm for outdoor camp adventures while helping to coordinate field trips for our campers and staff.   • The ideal candidate should be…

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Excited to be outdoors and work with youth.
  • Interested or experienced in camp and guiding youth in a variety of activities.
  • Energetic and has a desire to grow future girl leaders.
  • Visual / auditory ability to respond to environmental and other hazards.
  • Ability to respond calmly in a crisis situation.
  • Excellent customer service, including the ability to maintain a calm demeanor with adults in conflict.
  • Certified or able to become Red Cross First Aid / CPR / AED certified.
  • Willing to stay in Mindoro, WI for the entire summer and live onsite with our campers.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Available May 26th-August 8th, 2025.
  • What you will do :

  • Coordinate with offsite activity providers to confirm and finalize details and logistics.
  • Coordinate meals for field trips with kitchen staff.
  • Safely drive and maneuver a 12-passenger van with campers and staff on all offsite field trips.
  • Lead campers and staff while they are offsite, always ensuring the safety and wellbeing of campers and staff.
  • Serve as a guide, mentor, and role model to campers and staff.
  • Keep track of travelers and ensure that everyone is accounted for.
  • Be prepared for unforeseen circumstances and makes quick decisions as challenges arise.
  • Give instructions to campers and camp staff, using authority when necessary.
  • Assist in supervision of campers to cover for breaks of other camp staff.
  • Supervise and assist with unit cleaning, sanitation, care of supplies, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure implementation of Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
  • Participate in pre-camp staff training.
  • Assist in the opening and closing procedures of camp.
  • Comprehend and implement emergency procedures, through regular practice drills.
  • Willingness to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout program and enroll as a Girl Scout member.
  • Physical & Other Requirements :

    The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to withstand :

  • Living and sleeping in a rustic outdoor environment.
  • Working irregular hours : early mornings, nights, and weekends.
  • Lifting and / or moving up to 40 pounds.
  • Walking, hiking, and working outdoors in wooded areas and on uneven natural paths.
