What are the responsibilities and job description for the Membership Recruitment Specialist position at Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska?
The Membership Recruitment Specialist role works with a geographically based team to bring new members into the Girl Scout movement via attending existing events, creating events (with help!), and partnering with other youth serving organizations. This person should be a self-starter, motivated, like building a network of other organizations and volunteers, have basic knowledge of computers and the Microsoft Suite, enjoy talking to people, and open to trying new things. Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska provides tools and guidance to help you succeed. The position will work in the East Urban area. This area includes Otoe County, as well as Gretna, Springfield, Papillion, Omaha parts of Douglas and Sarpy counties), as well as parts of Lincoln. A valid motor vehicle operator license, unlimited use of a vehicle, clean driving record, and insurable in accordance with Girl Scouts insurance policy is required.
Essential Duties
1. Implements a comprehensive plan for girl and adult membership growth in targeted areas by researching market data, membership trends, and other pertinent information. Plan includes: community cultivation, lead generation, lead capture and processing.
2. Identifies specific areas for membership campaign targeting.
3. Implements membership recruitment plan to meet goals. Plan will include but is not limited to: in-person meetings, presentations, networking opportunities, and attending community events. Additionally, incumbent will maintain relationships with corporations, schools, educators, faith-based institutions, and community leaders.
4. Cultivate relationships with appropriate community leaders, organizations, and businesses to support recruitment, support and program efforts within targeted areas to positively impact membership growth.
