Position Summary
Equestrian Activity Specialists work within the Equestrian Team to advance the camp's mission by delivering safe, enjoyable, and age-appropriate equestrian programs that cater to campers' abilities. They play a key role in maintaining the smooth operation of program facilities and equipment, ensuring a high-quality experience for all participants.
GSGLA Lakota Overnight Camp
The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles Camp Lakota is a state of the art, recently updated residential camp. Located just 90 miles from downtown Los Angeles, this premier camp site will host a full summer camp season. The camp will focus on providing a stand-out girl-led experience for campers of all ages and communities across our 6,272 square mile footprint. The camp offers a variety of specialty activities including a high ropes challenge course, horseback riding, swimming, and archery.
The camp operates with daily exposure to various weather conditions and animals such as bugs, raccoons, and other wilderness animals common to the area.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver an equestrian program that is appropriate for the age and ability of the campers under the direction of the Equestrian Supervisor / Wrangler and the Outdoor Program Supervisor.
Evaluate the abilities of campers and staff.
Ensure campers and staff follow the safety procedures of our GSGLA policies and equestrian contract.
Maintain and clean activity equipment and activity area, keeping it free of hazards and debris.
Follow and uphold all safety and security rules and procedures.
Attending and preparing for daily meetings, on time.
