Overview
GitHub is searching for an experienced Business Manager with a high attention to detail to support the Office of the CEO.
Reporting into the Chief of Staff to the CEO, the Business Manager will partner closely with Office of the CEO staff and with stakeholders across the business on a wide range of responsibilities including: coordinating and planning executive scheduling, routinely briefing OCEO, supporting and planning large-scale trips, and overseeing special projects such as budgeting and workforce planning. All in all, we are searching for an analytically-minded, fast-paced, and detail-oriented individual to help us operationalize and streamline the business process and coordination of the Office of the CEO.
This role is based remotely in the San Francisco, CA area with in-person support required (approximately 25%).
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and ensures the Executive’s schedule is followed and respected. Provides gatekeeper and gateway role for OCEO staff, creating win-win situations for direct access to the Executive’s time and office.
- Quarterly and Budget Planning. Work with OCEO and cross-functional team leadership to establish, document, and communicate quarterly planning and budget materials, including vendor and contract management.
- Provides research and analysis to prepare briefing materials. Manages multiple tasks with competing deadlines. Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, and proactively, and follows through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
- Fields inquiries and requests for the OCEO and forward situations and issues to appropriate colleagues for resolution.
- Performs and/or oversees a wide range of special projects or assignments that are highly sensitive or complex, requiring a high level of independence and initiative in execution and implementation.
- Understands the goals and priorities of the executive to prioritize issues according to urgency.
- Coordinates and supports OCEO Staff on large- and small-scale events, domestic and international.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in a business management or program management role
- Experience in the following disciplines:
- Project management
- Quarterly and budget planning
- Executive scheduling and operations, including fluency in G-Suite and Microsoft office scheduling tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to work in an independent manner with minimal oversight, and to work across teams and partner well with people with diverse professional backgrounds
- Demonstrated program ownership and consistent delivery against commitments, including strong organizational skills, follow-through, and attention to detail
- Experience working cross-functionally with remote and distributed teams
- Exceptional documentation and written communication skills
- Understanding of the developer ecosystem and/or GitHub tools
Compensation Range
USD $89,200.00 - USD $236,600.00 /Yr.
In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
