As a Seasoning Creator, you will lead the development of snack seasoning solutions that align with customer specifications and industry standards. You will center on managing complex projects, creating unique formulations, and providing technical expertise. You’ll help ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance within your creations. With experiences through flavor science, we offer the chance to shape impactful products in a collaborative manner.

Your Location: Elgin, Illinois
You will Report to: Technical Director

Responsibilities:
Seasoning Development & Project Leadership

• Lead and coordinate complex seasoning development projects, ensuring agreement on goals and EH&S policies.
• Create new or modify existing seasonings to meet customer specifications and internal testing needs, applying an advanced understanding of multiple seasoning types, with emphasis on the snack space.
• Oversee large research and technical projects, including seasoning creation and leading customer visits.

Technical Expertise & Collaboration

• Serve as a technical expert on flavor profile, raw materials, and nutritional information, providing insights to sales, marketing, and customer teams.
• Manage the evaluation of seasoning materials from both internal and external sources, ensuring products meet customer needs, regulatory standards, and good manufacturing practices.
• Provide comprehensive technical support to resolve production issues and address customer complaints with full ownership of created seasonings.

Team Management & Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S)

• Manage and train seasoning assistants, promoting a diverse and inclusive environment.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab environment, ensuring adherence to EH&S policies and contributing to the establishment of lab safety standards.

Your Professional Profile Includes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or Biology, with 5 years of experience in seasoning creation, with time in the snack space.
• Mastery in tasting and seasoning formulation, capable of adjusting formulations to meet specific modifications.
• Expert knowledge of raw materials and seasoning ingredients across multiple product categories, with experience in more than one country/region preferred.
• Strong project management skills with a successful track record in leading large customer and technical development projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of local and regional regulatory requirements for seasonings.
• Ability to prepare and present complex technical presentations, integrating intermediate knowledge from other areas like sensory analysis and marketing.
• Knowledge in seasoning functionality and the ability to formulate to specific needs.
• Competencies in customer focus, innovation, nimble learning, team-building, decision-making, and values diversity and inclusivity.
