Job Title: TEACH Coordinator (Tutor)

Job Summary
The primary role of the TEACH Coordinator (tutor) is to provide academic support to students, fostering educational growth and success. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with homework, test preparation, developing individualized lesson plans, and facilitating activities to promote educational development. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with families and school administration to ensure effective academic support and student recruitment. TEACH Coordinators work closely with students to identify their individual needs, and tailor tutoring sessions accordingly. A passion for education and the ability to connect and understand children are essential qualities for this role, as they help foster student’ academic growth, confidence, and overall well-being.
Skills Needed
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues
- Experience working with children or adults in an educational setting
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Competent in Common Core Math and Language Arts and capable of brushing up on subjects with little to no direction
- Competent in advanced mathematical concepts- a minimum of (1) of the following: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, or Statistics
- Familiarity with lesson planning and curriculum development.
- Understanding of classroom management techniques to maintain a productive learning environment.
- Special education or early childhood education experience is a plus.
- Knowledge and familiarity of Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Apps such as Word, Excel, OneDrive, etc.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to students in various subjects
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on the specific needs and goals of each student
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources to engage students and enhance learning
- Assist students with homework assignments, test preparation, and study skills
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes student confidence and motivation
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination of services
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements
Required Credentials
- High School Diploma or GED
- Receive Department of Justice background clearance
- Negative TB within past 4 years
- Passing of the proficiency test or 48 college credits. The proficiency test will be scheduled and administered in the main office prior to the initial onboarding process
Preferred Credentials
- Experience and/or training in a closely related employment position preferred
- Bilingual a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
