Givens Transportation is a leader in logistics, warehousing, and transportation solutions, delivering reliable and efficient services to our clients. We are seeking a Yard Operations Coordinator to oversee yard management, dispatch operations, and trailer movement in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do:
- Coordinate and dispatch switch truck drivers to manage efficient container and trailer movements.
- Use the Yard Management System (YMS) to track and log all yard activities in real time.
- Monitor freight movement, container status, and trailer locations using Transportation Management Systems (TMS), GPS, and other tracking tools.
- Ensure on-time dispatching by communicating with warehouse teams and transportation departments.
- Provide real-time status updates to internal teams and external customers.
- Perform yard checks, scheduling, and spreadsheet updates for accurate load tracking.
- Support the dispatch and safety teams with driver files, compliance records, and operational tasks.
- Identify and resolve logistics challenges quickly and efficiently.
What We're Looking For:
- Transportation experience: 1 years in logistics, dispatching, yard operations, or freight coordination.
- Typing speed: 50 WPM for fast, accurate data entry.
- Detail-oriented: Accuracy is key for tracking and reporting.
- Tech-savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, YMS, and TMS systems.
- Logistics knowledge: Experience with freight coordination, dispatching, or yard management is a plus.
- Problem-solver: Ability to think fast and resolve yard or dispatch issues.
- Strong communicator: Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
Bonus Points: Prior experience with YMS, TMS, or fleet tracking software is a plus!
