Professional Chef - Turkish, Uzbek or Uyghur

Job Summary

GK Pastry is looking for a talented and passionate Professional Chef (please apply only if you are Turkish, Uzbek or Uyghur) to join our growing team! Starting as a part-time position, with potential to expand to full-time as we grow. We specialize in artisan breads, pastries, and a variety of savory and sweet offerings, and with the opening of our Los Altos location in early 2025, we’re expanding into offering more diverse cuisine for lunch and dinner.

Responsibilities

• Cooking Turkish, Uzbek, Uyghur and Central Asian cuisine
• Crafting a versatile menu of salads, sandwiches, soups, and savory pastries for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
• Using fresh, high-quality ingredients to create delicious, innovative dishes
• Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring quality control and adherence to health regulations.
• Manage inventory effectively to minimize waste and optimize cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with restaurant management to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen environment.
• Monitor food presentation and portion sizes to ensure consistency across all dishes.
• Handle any kitchen-related issues or emergencies promptly and efficiently.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of kitchen experience (but we believe talent and passion matter more)
• A versatile chef who can handle a range of dishes and menus
• Someone eager to work with Turkish, Central Asian, and other cuisines
• Creativity, passion for cooking, and attention to detail
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling and kitchen operations.
• Work Authorization in US
