Livestock Manager

Overview
The Stock Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the inventory and stock levels within our organization. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is adept at managing supplies, ensuring that all materials are available for operations, and maintaining an organized storage environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical knowledge and experience with various tools, as well as a passion for working in agricultural or greenhouse settings.

Duties

• Manage and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate stock for daily operations.
• Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.
• Sort, count, weigh, and tattoo hogs.
• Pen animals in appropriate areas.
• Learn and apply Tyson Pork Procurement Programs, carcass merit information, and kill sheet processes.
• Understand weight docks and buying procedures.
• Act as a station relief buyer in the absence of the manager for vacation or training purposes..

Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture or a related field is required. Candidates graduating in May 2025 will be considered, with employment contingent upon completing their degree.
• Experience: Livestock experience is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with greenhouse operations or farm management is advantageous.
• Experience in animal handling and husbandry practices is a plus.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks regularly.
• Basic math skills to assist with inventory calculations and reporting.
• A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and maintaining an organized work environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
