Agricultural Livestock Buyer

PROMAN Staffing has partnered with a global food/beverage manufacturer to source and hire a LIVESTOCK BUYER to join their team in Columbus Junction, IA.

THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY

Are you passionate about livestock and agriculture? Our client is seeking an Alley Buyer to join their team in a hog yard environment. This role is essential in handling, sorting, counting, weighing, and tattooing hogs, while also learning Pork Procurement Programs and buying procedures.

Livestock Buyer Responsibilities:

Sort, weigh, and pen hogs efficiently.
Learn and apply Pork Procurement Programs, carcass merit, and weight docks.
Assist as a station relief buyer during manager absences.
Ensure compliance with USDA regulations and SOPs for animal handling and safety.

Livestock Buyer Requirements:

✔ Education: Bachelor’s in agriculture or related field (May 2025 grads welcome!).
✔ Experience: Livestock experience preferred.
✔ Skills: Strong communication and basic computer skills.
✔ Physical Requirements: Ability to stand/walk entire shift, moderate force to assist with animals.
✔ Travel: Must be open to overnight travel as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 per year
