Pay Range: $31.25 - $40.86 per hour
Position Overview
The EHS Specialist I will support the development, implementation, and management of environmental, health, and safety programs. You’ll play a key role in identifying risks, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This is a hands-on role that involves collaboration across all levels of the organization to foster a culture of safety and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee hazardous waste management operations, including inspections and tracking manifests.
- Conduct daily safety inspections of production areas, labs, warehouses, and shipping/receiving operations.
- Perform stormwater inspections and sampling as required.
- Support hazardous waste minimization plans for thermoset and thermoplastic processes.
- Identify and mitigate environmental risks and support corrective actions following accident investigations.
- Conduct employee safety training on topics such as HazCom, hazardous waste handling, and more.
- Assist with writing, revising, and maintaining EHS documentation.
- Support emergency preparedness, crisis management initiatives, and industrial hygiene efforts.
- Participate in ERT (Emergency Response Team) meetings and Safety Committee initiatives.
- Assist in developing and implementing new programs and procedures following OSHA, EPA, and company guidelines.
Qualifications
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s degree in EHS or a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- 1 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety roles.
- Manufacturing or composites experience is a plus.
- Technical Expertise:
- Basic knowledge of CAL-OSHA, EPA, HMBP, SWPPP, and related regulations.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage safety and compliance.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds and adhering to PPE protocols.
