Accounting Assistant I
Glanbia is seeking a dynamic team member to support and provide accurate, relevant, knowledgeable, and timely cost accounting, financial and operational results, and transactional accounting information. This may include reconciling and preparing production reporting, balancing and tracking physical inventories and usage, and preparing bi-weekly payroll files. The successful candidate will also provide support and perform purchasing duties.
The Key Responsibilities
• Reconcile production daily, weekly, and monthly
• Calculate and issue ingredients, packaging, cleaner, and miscellaneous usage daily/weekly
• Prepare weekly production reports
• Provide coverage for other office personnel
• Review work and assess for reasonableness; identify and report on significant variances
• Prepare weekly/monthly reporting for cost categories as assigned
• Validate physical plant inventories against SAP weekly
• Enter requisitions, receive material and manage LIV, GRIR, and Open POs
• Support front desk as needed, including switchboard operator, greeting visitors, and distributing mail
• Organize electronic and physical files
• Assist in weekly and monthly departmental and plant reporting
• Support department heads within operations financial information
• Participate in special projects/action teams
The Skills You Will Bring
• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of one year related experience and/or training
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
