What are the responsibilities and job description for the Programmer and Scheduler position at Glass and Metal Craft?
Glass and Mirror Craft (G MC) is one of the Top 30 fabricators of custom glass, metal and engineered solutions in North America. For over 25 years, our architectural systems have been deployed on stunning high-rise and monumental building projects across the country.
To meet our daily production schedules, we are seeking a Programmer who can assume the lead role of programming G MC’s glass CNC equipment, which includes our Forvet drilling & milling machine, CMS machine, and Digitizing Patterns.

Description of the work:
Patterns
· Digitizes Patterns (wood, cardboard, or paper) for production from customer orders that are sent in to us.
· Assign & log each Pattern with a specific pattern number
· Track patterns for shipping & customer service when needed
Forvet & CMS Programming
· Create programs based off of customer provided sketches using DXF files generated by Fenevision
· Ensure that all programs match customer provided sketches (glass size, cutout/hole locations)
· Ensure that all programs run in the most optimal sequence
· Ensure that all programs are using the correct tooling
· Update production reports and make sure that everything released has a program
· Create “load points” on customer sketches to help machine operators load glass correctly into machine
· Communicate with machine operators about any changes that may be happening at the machine
· Communicate with machine operators about any larger/specialty orders coming thru to help successfully complete the orders correctly
· AutoCAD
· Create DXF files for various areas of the plant (Cutting table, Quality Scanner, Forvet/CNC)
· Help Customer Service by creating CAD drawings to verify sizes of glass
· Communicate with Customer Service if there are any issues (bad/missing dimensions) that will prevent a DXF file from being drawn correctly
Qualifications
· Familiar with CAD software and have a basic understanding of how to navigate through CAD software.
· Previous programming experience is a plus but not required. Willing to train the right candidate.
· Ability to communicate throughout various departments and team members.
· Fundamental understanding of the movement of product through a multi-process manufacturing environment, and the need to keep on top of daily schedules.

Pay: $50,866.00 - $55,000.00 per year
