Position Overview:
The Tempering Line Associate will perform a wide range of duties. This position requires the handling of glass and various other products related to the glass industry. As a Tempering Line Associate, you will play a vital role in processing different types and sizes of glass through the tempering furnace and performing tests to verify the product meets safety glazing standards.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload glass onto and from the tempering line using proper handling techniques
- Monitor glass movement through the furnace and cooling areas
- Conduct visual inspections for quality issues such as chips, scratches, or warping
- Assist furnace operators with setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting as needed
- Maintain clean and organized workstations and follow all safety protocols
- Communicate issues or equipment concerns to line leads or supervisors promptly
- Record production and inspection data as required
- Read, follow, and complete the daily production schedule for the tempering furnace.
- Process all orders to meet on time delivery.
- Document inspection results and maintain records of the tempering process Initiate re-issues as needed.
- Follow all safety practices and procedures.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area at all times.
- Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the tempering process.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings or weekends if needed
