Glass Farm Nursery is looking for a part-time garden center associate to help maintain our nursery, and provide customer service to our customers.
Glass Farm Nursery is retail nursery outside of Chattanooga, in Rising Fawn Georgia.
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Garden Center Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for plants, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Care:
- Water, prune, and care for live plant material to ensure their health and vitality.
- Monitor plants for signs of pests, diseases, or other issues and take appropriate action.
- Organize and maintain plant displays to ensure a visually appealing and organized garden center.
Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner.
- Answer questions about plants, gardening supplies, and care instructions.
- Provide recommendations and advice to customers based on their gardening needs and preferences.
- Assist customers in selecting plants and products that meet their requirements.
Register Operation:
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments, and issue receipts to customers.
- Maintain an organized and tidy checkout area, including stocking bags and other supplies.
General Duties:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the garden center, including sweeping, dusting, and restocking shelves.
- Receive shipments of plants and supplies, and assist with inventory management.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other activities as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with live plants and gardening knowledge is required.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as bags of soil or potted plants.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience handling a register or point of sale system required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Contract
Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour
