As a well-funded, VC-backed Bay Area startup, we’re poised for rapid growth. With a team of almost 20 today, we plan to grow significantly over the next couple of years.

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and hands-on Technical Recruiter / Head of Talent to spearhead our talent acquisition efforts. You will play a critical role in building and scaling our team by attracting, sourcing, and screening top-tier engineers specializing in areas such as deep learning, computer vision, imaging algorithms, C /GPU development, and edge-optimized mobile software engineering—as well as a range of general roles across our organization. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our company’s growth while working closely with our leadership team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop & Execute Recruitment Strategies:
  • Create and implement innovative, data-driven recruiting plans to meet our ambitious headcount growth targets, covering both highly specialized technical roles and more general positions. Create or refine evaluation criteria for each type of role.
  • Build Talent Pipelines:
  • Proactively source and engage top talent using a variety of channels—including social media, networking, referrals, and industry/academic events—to build a robust pipeline for current and future needs. Handle screening of candidates and guide them through the process.
  • Collaborate with Leadership:
  • Partner with hiring managers to craft compelling job descriptions, define candidate profiles, and ensure a seamless, positive candidate experience throughout the full recruitment lifecycle—from sourcing and interviewing to offer negotiation and onboarding.
  • Enhance Employer Branding:
  • Develop and promote Glass Imaging’s brand as an employer of choice in the tech and imaging industries through targeted outreach and engagement with industry networks, technical communities, and academic institutions.
  • Optimize Processes:
  • Continuously refine recruiting practices, leverage sourcing tools, applicant tracking systems and other HR tools, and use key performance metrics to ensure efficient, high-quality hires in a fast-paced startup environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven Recruiting Expertise:
  • 5 years of experience in technical recruiting, preferably within high-growth startup environments, with a strong track record of successfully scaling engineering and technical teams.
  • Technical Acumen:
  • A deep understanding of technical roles is ideal—especially in fields such as deep learning, computer vision, imaging algorithms, optics, Camera ISP pipelines, C development, GPU programming (OpenCL, CUDA, Metal, OpenGL), and mobile platform development (iOS and Android C libraries)—is highly desirable.
  • Full-Cycle Recruiting Mastery:
  • Demonstrated expertise managing every aspect of the recruitment process, from candidate sourcing to onboarding, with an ability to navigate complex hiring needs in specialized and general roles alike.
  • Strategic & Data-Driven:
  • A strategic thinker who leverages analytics to optimize recruiting strategies, ensuring a streamlined process that meets aggressive growth targets.
  • Exceptional Communication & Relationship Building:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a knack for building strong relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and external networks.
  • Cultural Fit:
  • A passion for innovation, technology, and photography, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced startup environment.

Bonus Points:

  • A background in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with employer branding initiatives and HR industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with the tech and imaging industry landscapes.
  • Experience with or desire to grow the role to cover other aspects of the HR process.
